๘๘:๒On that day (many) faces will be downcast,

๘๘:๓Toiling, weary,

๘๘:๔Scorched by burning fire,

๘๘:๕Drinking from a boiling spring,

๘๘:๖No food for them save bitter thorn-fruit

๘๘:๗Which doth not nourish nor release from hunger.

๘๘:๘In that day other faces will be calm,

๘๘:๙Glad for their effort past,

๘๘:๑๐In a high Garden

๘๘:๑๑Where they hear no idle speech,

๘๘:๑๒Wherein is a gushing spring,

๘๘:๑๓Wherein are couches raised

๘๘:๑๔And goblets set at hand

๘๘:๑๕And cushions ranged

๘๘:๑๖And silken carpets spread.

๘๘:๑๗Will they not regard the camels, how they are created?

๘๘:๑๘And the heaven, how it is raised?

๘๘:๑๙And the hills, how they are set up?

๘๘:๒๐And the earth, how it is spread?

๘๘:๒๑Remind them, for thou art but an admonisher,

๘๘:๒๒Thou art not at all a warder over them.

๘๘:๒๓But whoso is averse and disbelieveth,

๘๘:๒๔Allah will punish him with direst punishment.

๘๘:๒๕Lo! unto Us is their return

๘๘:๒๖And Ours their reckoning.
